Never Winter Nights Ending now ranks up along side of Drakan in the "Crappiest Game Endings ever....



What a huge disapointment :-/

The ending was a bit of a letdown for me as well...after the two drakes I faced, everything else was easy after that. [img]graemlins/awcrap.gif[/img]

But don't look at this as the be-all and end-all of the game - it's merely the beginning of your adventures in a whole lot of different realms, some are IN the Realms, some are not - but there's enough out there to tickle your fancy, whether or not you play singleplayer or multi online. [img]smile.gif[/img]

Well what I disliked was the way they made you think you would be able to try to influence Lord Nasher in Aribeth's behalf. All that "Maybe he will be merciful" and "I have feelings for you, but it can wait intill you have destroyed Morag" stuff had me wanting the final battle to be done and over with.

Then it was and a cutscene and roll credits came...

And I was like W T F?

I sure hope the next release takes off where NWNs left off.

Exactly what I thought so, Wurm... I was a bit disapointed when I saw the cut scenes, then the credits, whitout even knowing what would happen to Aribeth (you know, you get to like her through the game )

Anyway, maybe it's a sign, that there will be the "Neverwinter Nights Expansion: Aribeth's Tale"?

I agree! I thought the last battle was great, but the ending was awful! The whole stupid romance with Aarin came to exactly NOTHING, and no whisper of Aribeth! [img]graemlins/1disgust.gif[/img]

Also I found it really stupid the way you couldn't use your stone of recall, BUT your henchmen were spirited away when they died. So you couldn't get them back. I found a whole bagful of raise dead scrolls throughout the game, would've made sense I thought if there where teleporting and respawning wasn't possible for henchmen to actually die and you be able to resurrect them.

Well, hate to burst the bubble but NWN wasn't meant to be a single player game. I do agree that some things could have been done better, but I personally didn't feel so "cheated" - I simply knew that this isn't "another BG serie". Other then that, if I was a Bioware 'el hefe', I would have requested to make at least a bit more proper ending - i.e. where you return to the Neverwinter and go to Castle Never and through the ceremony and all that. But oh well..

I don't know this for sure, but somewhere I did hear that some sort of "expansion pack" for NWN may be released somewhere at the end of the year. Maybe it will sort of move 'further' with the story, maybe not. Maybe chars can get higher level and what not else. But until official notification, I'd treat this just as a 'rumor', what it also is at the moment

i think its kinda like the ending of BG2 like i was expecting something big like a massive reward for helping those idiot cowled wizards or maybe even a parade in my honor for sving the elves but nooooo they show me a cut scene?!?! like i havent played ToB but that probably has a better ending maybe thats whats happening with NwN,
i wonder what theyll call it? NwN:We left one of the cultists alive and now hes spreading the word and they will come because it is written in the stars of the sky at the time of the night when the world is weary

i like that as a name, maybe they could set the expansion in Sword Coast

Anyway, I thought it was a dumb ending too. They should at least have you go back to Neverwinter, where you get rewarded for your efforts, but noooo , you go through the stupid portal with Haedraline waving your goodbye, and that's it. You never know what happens to Aribeth. Does Aarin Gend stay right hand forever? I mean, I helped Neverwinter a heck of a lot more than Aarin did, and look where it got me! Stuck in an Astral Pocket, never knowing where I'll go or what I'll do next! I never get to be right hand, or spymaster, or anything! Haedraline says "Morag is not the most powerful foe you will face. As your wealth and power grows, so will the evil and dangerous creatures who will try to take that wealth and power away from you." Or something like that. What foes? I don't think anything could be harder a foe than Morag (except me)! Huh? [img]graemlins/rant.gif[/img]

If you play a female character you can 'romance' Aarin like you can with Aribeth if you play male. Basically he tells long boring stories and calls you 'my friend' a lot
