I'll have him drinking himself into a stupor in the tavern you're at.

Just sit down next to him at the bar and watch his mouth start running!)

~She had been up for a while when Deiter finally awoke and she turns around as he groans.~ "You feelin' all right?" ~She reaches for her boots, looking concerned over at him.~

What Maverick Is Doing

~The wood elf sat at the bar, gulping what would be his third drink. He had a hearty constitution, but if he kept this up much longer he'd be spilling his guts, or running around the streets naked... Either way, the results would be frightening. He chuckles to himself as the patron next to him passed out.~ "No more for me then!" ~He watches a small elf leave the tavern and whistles. She dosen't hear him. He frowns and decides to follow her, hiding in the shadows.~

Kaz absently walks the streets, not heeding where she is going. She cradles her hand which is burning like fire, thinking. But it is impossible! Yet apparently not... what shall I do... what shall I do...

He looked over at Chani"Yeah I'm ok, just remind me never to go near the bar when I feel bad." Groaning a little he got up.

The bespectacled clerk looks up from the pile of parchment stacked neatly on his desk. He sighs resignedly ~ "Are you sure you want me to do that?" ~ She nods vehemently, and gives him the most enticing smile she can come up with - not easy by any standards, given her current state of mind ~ "Consider what you could gain from this, my good man... why, if I'm proven right, you'll gain a hefty promotion and probably a big fat bonus....how about it?"

He ponders over her proposition for a while, and nods wearily ~ "I suppose you'll go away when you're satisfied that you've squeezed every bit of information out of my poor soul..." ~ Muttering to himself, he bends down to pick up another stack of papers and begins rummaging through them expertly...

"Ah! I believe this is what you require..." ~ He hands over the incriminating evidence to her ~ "I don't really care about the promotion and perks, you know. I just want a steady job where nobody bugs me." ~ Shrugging, he returns to his work.

She pores over every letter in the parchment and smiles grimly. Walking over to Inspector Bragg, she hands the parchment to him. ~ "Good afternoon, Inspector. Sorry to trouble you, but I believe that this merchant does not have a license to peddle his fares." ~

The inspector studies the parchment thoughtfully, before looking up. ~"You're right! I'll have him arrested immediately for this. Thank you, dear lady." ~ Turning to his men, he shouts his orders for the immediate capture of the offender.

Mistral looks at him with a gleam in her eye ~ "The pleasure, Inspector, is all mine..." ~

~She chuckles and finishes lacing up her boot. She then looks over at a groaning Deiter. Her voice sounds concern.~ "You sure you're OK? You're looking a little pale."

Maverick Shadowfall
~He continues to follow the elf, seeing a flash of worry upon her face. He also takes note how she is cradling her arm. Agh! Anything but another Nightblade! He chuckles to himself, regretting it instantly. The girl's deaf if she didn't hear that... Ah hell...~

ooc: Maverick isn't a ranger, he's an assassin. And his family cloak hides him from infravision.

Kaz, hearing something behind her, whirls around. There is nothing there. Yet she is sure that she heard something... This is getting to be a strange night, she thinks. What in all the world is going on here?

He nodded at her and started to look through a pouch he had on his belt. Pulling out a small green leaf he stuck it in his mouth and chewed on slowly.Quickly the paleness from his face was gone."I'm fine now, should of thought of this sooner."

As she ambles from the Government District back to the market square, she perceives a group of guards escorting Luthor. At the sight of her, the latter breaks into a scowl.

"You'll pay for this, you witch!" ~ He spits at her ~ "Is this how you repay my gift to you? Do you not remember that I made a present of the hawk to you earlier?" ~ He shakes with uncontrollable fury ~ "You ingrate!... I'll..." ~ His speech is impaired by a sudden knock on his head - administered by the captain of the guards ~ "Shut your mummer, you lout! And show some respect to the lady!"

She gazes at him expressionlessly, but her eyes gleam with satisfaction ~ "Of course I remember your gift of the hawk... the very hawk you just tried to recapture from me." ~ A ghost of a smile creeps into her lips as she sees his stunned expression ~ "Do think the next time you decide to bestow a gift, my good man... but then again, there won't be a next time for a while, will there?" ~ She smiles grimly ~ "Your only flaw was that after you enticed Isabeau back to your side, you gave her a slow poison... that allowed her to get away undetected and you needed time to find her." ~

Luthor's face turns pale ~ "But...if you knew, why didn't you just come up to me to seek revenge?" ~ In answer, she gives him a serene smile ~ "That's alignment for you, Luthor. I'm a lawful person... I would never have approached you without a shred of evidence against you...besides, you could always have said that you found her somewhere and was keeping her safe for me until I appeared. It would have been your word against Isabeau's." ~ She pauses before continuing ~ "So I did a quick check with the records, and true enough, your license has expired for about 2 years now..." ~

Emitting an imaginary yawn, she turns to look at him a final time ~ "I'd love to stay and chat, but I've a hawk to look after. Goodbye, Luthor." ~ With that, she strolls off, hearing a barrage of protests and curses behind her.

Before long, she has returned to the building again and nods at Isabeau ~ Revenge is complete, my friend. ~
