I spen about 70 minutes rolling to get it that high. Simple methodology: don't even look at rolls that are not all above 9. Then count only the last numbers (ie. 8 of an 18 roll) and the sum must be higher than say 23 to be saved. I was lucky with the 18/99!
We're cooking! Really hard areas previously are now almost piece-o-cake! I just don't know how to get lots of gold coins to buy some of the more expensive weapons - 33 000, thew! Is there an easy way - I'm basically carting back truck loads of vanquished weapons and stuf to sell at Kuldahar... kartetse --------------------- do da do, kick da goo and stay outta da zoo... |

My last party got stuck with the leeettle girl turned beeeg monster and from what I read on the forum you need to have THACO +2 or better weapons, which they somehow didn't have. I'm preparing manically for that encounter...

kartetse,
Oops. Probably not "official" D&D 2nd Edition rules; but when I roll characters and decide what rolls to keep I artificially assign a STR roll of 18/25 to 18/75 a value of 19, anything above 18/75 is a value (to me) of 20. Take Glommer, for instance: He's got 18+17+19+8+18+3 = 83 points; but his STRength is not 18: it is 18/99. So, if I had this roll I would "value" the STR portion of the roll as 18+2 = 20; so value the overall roll about the same as I would value an 83+2 = 85 point roll with STR = 18 (especially if I was rolling a Fighter or a DC/MC Fighter/whatever). Using the above system, I would "value" your Pally's roll at (18+1)+15+18+3+18+18 = 91. Triaston's roll would be valued by me as (18+1)+17+19+9+18+10 = 92 (awesome rolls!). What's a party, without a song? Bard's ROCK! Party on!! |
