Well, I just finished my character with the NWN original plus two expansions (HOTU twice!) So my level is pretty high now actually (5 druid/17 shapeshifter/ 7 cleric). Is it still possible to join hook up in there? And is my character will still be considered legit?

Considereing the how many level 40 characters that are running about in there, I'd have to give a wild guess and say yes, still legit.
Most of us in there don't care much for your character level, it's the weapons we look at to determine if you're a cheat, so no longsword +20 of each kind of magical damage you can possibly add.
