There should be a brain on the floor. Go back and push you "Tab" button on your keyboard. It highlights all doors, chests, lootbags, characters, etc. Walk around while pushing tab and hopefully you'll find it.

Thanks for the tab tip I can't see a lot of things at times in the darker areas(pit).Let me buy you a drink to show my appreciation,oops spilt it,oh well next time...John

thnx guys =)... it must have been a bug or something cause no matter what I did nothing happend when I killed the gaoler... so I restarted the game and when I got there... the guards moved and the monster jumped from them one by one after I killed em...

Ah, I didn't find a brain, but one of the guards that I didn't Persuade is still down there. I'm gonna kill him.
