Gidday,
how good is the stealth skill, does it add much to the "cloak of night" trait? cheers Nutman |

Yes it does adds! Cloack of nights are useless without good stealth skill.
It must be very high skill level, or it's useless. At high skill level you can hide in shadows and backstab some enemies, without you reveal to them. If you use Cloack of Night, you reveal after first hit. So if you have assassin who knows: Cloack of N. Backstab, Critical Strike 5-10, Stealth high, you can stab your enemies 30-70 damage! ( depends weapon, blessing, spells...) But it's no use to learn it, if you don't train it high...

I have no idea! I never use the stealth skill myself. The cloak of night trait seems to be enough.

It's very effective... almost too effective, really.
When you're highly skilled, monsters can't see or sense your party. Imagine running through the Gael Serran, hollering after a Crab O' the Sea... "Come back! Come back! Let me kill you for your shell!" And even when you hit, they don't realize you're there, so they start wandering away, not even wondering why there's blood oozing from the wounds you've inflicted. 'Tis true. In one game, all the party was stealthing, and nothing would stay put long enough to be slain. I ended up having five characters stealthed and one visible so the monsters would stay around. That, in effect, means it's mostly useless to me in a solo game (unless I'm trying to avoid everything). You can do a tremendous amount of extra damage, though...

having a good stealth skill ensures that your characters can hide in shadows (cloak of night) and backstab enemies for LOTSA damage! this is particularly useful for bringing down tough enemies like the sphinx outside anephas's shrine and the temple guardians inside.
surprises is better than direct combat !

I dont like the stealth skill. It is my mission to 'kill, crush & destroy' anything in my path. If the monsters don't sense me they cant cross my path.

I am ignoring the Stealth skill as well. I would need a skill "Monsters! I am here! Stop hiding behind the corner, run to me and don't let me wait!" instead . I like fights even if I do not think that I must kill and destroy everything that pops on the screen.
