My concern is geared towards the ethics and morals involved in indiscriminate bombing of people, both innocent and combatent. I cannot comment on what money is spent on when it comes to these concerns, because I cannot place a monetary value upon a single life, much less 20 or so.

edit ( And I would hope all that money spent on training and equiping special forces would have gone to some use.)

We got Tony Blair in our pocket and we'll allow any other Leaders to do the same, they just need to know how to fall in to step with us.

(This was very heavily sarcastic..okay?)
That has always been the sad state of affairs in this world of ours, hasn't it? Might is Right.

Well, China learned this lesson from the Brits in the 19th Century, and now she's muscled herself up well enough for America or anyone else to think at least twice before trying to be funny with her.

Keep that in mind when you consider messing up a mainland Chinese wedding. UNDERSTAND?
Well congratulations on taking down a P-3. Errr wait a minute the vaunted Chinese airforce ran into it! Wow the upgraded 1960's J-7 surely kicked some as eh? Hit a turboprop like a guided misslie it did, a commendable feat! Hey does China give out idiot pilot posters?

You've never been in the miltary have you? Your suggesting we fight in ranks and blast away at each other such as in the revolutionary war? How smart is that? Sure isnt too smart to squander your men that way. Stick to Monopoly, leave war games to some else there general

This is the 2nd incident of Americans (it was americans right?) dropping bombs accidently.
Who says either time was an accident?

Sure isnt too smart to squander your men that way. Stick to Monopoly, leave war games to some else there general
Certainly bombing away any and all footsoldiers is an efficient way to wage a war. The objective to win at the lowest cost of causulty is sound. Tactics and stradgety arent the matter here. The conscience, the right or wrong, is the matter at hand that I am raising. The honor in mass killing, impersonally and justifying it by a cause or in the name of justice.

Besides, special operations teams do not line up rank and file( I mention them in the second part of the post you quoted), And I do not object to direct air support. You dont bomb weddings if your highly trained man on the ground can see what it is. A bunch of villagers shooting guns in the air in celebration, in a culture that raises its young with gun in hands, that would not be unusual. A rocket battery on the other hand...

Oh yeah, Im an avid chessplayer and wargamer, not to mention a conscientous objector.

No, but they confiscate the American plane and dig out all the nice stuff from it before returning the husk to the Yankees.

Schol, Chew, Sky and K T, nice posts! Since 9-11, it has become acceptable to be racist against arabs. At least, to say things aloud we would never even dare to if it was about negros or jews or whatever... I'm not pointing to anybody here, it's everywhere... newspapers, glamour intellectuals, bar flies and lounge lizards, has-been artists on a comeback, fanatic preachers etc...

Speaking about cover up, any european here has seen the Massacre at Mazar documentary?
It seems to have been a hot topic in european medias, but absolutly NONE of the North American mainstream media has said a single word about it.

This is a short film, recently released, that preceeds a full documentary of the subject because the mass graves (read: evidences) are currently being "cleaned". Basically, it shows the participation of the U.S. army and the CIA in the mass murder of 1000 to 3000 afghan POWs. The movie has been showed in a couple of european countries. The producer, Jamie Doran, is Irish.

I can't say anything about it, haven't seen it yet, but i'm curious.
