Do the various merchants in Amn offer differt purchase prices for your items? I've been to several and dont seem to see a difference.

I believe that the only way to lower the prices is to have a higher reputation. The lower your rep the higher the price, and the higher the rep the lower the price.>

One way to raise your rep is to go to a temple and "buy" points by donating.

You probably know this already, prices tend to change along with your reputation. Also Bernard in Copper Coronet will sell his stuff at a discount once you complete the Slavers' Quest. Generally speak though, prices across stores is relatively the same I've noticed (except in the Underdark, I think).

Just as a note, charisma also affects the price. Try using the ring of human influence (you pick it up early) to make prices lower.

Gray Mage and Bernard are correct. But there are some subtle price differences if you look around as well. For instance, when you first start the game and are low on GPs, I noticed the woman standing outside in the Prominade offered the cheapest prices for health potions.

Ok, I'm wondering if everyone has misunderstood your question? Anyway, all that the others said is correct, and here's something they haven't spotted or mentioned . Most of the merchants offer simmilar prices for your items, but some offer more than others, also, if a merchant doesn't have any of the Item your selling already in his list then he or she will offer slightly more money for it until they get a certain number of that item, so If you have lots of an expensive Item you want to sell, find a merchant who doesn't have any and sell them all at once for extra cash.

Hope this helps (if you can understand it)

When you come to the Sahuagin(?) City (you know the fish people) make sure to go to the Priestess in the corner. You can buy for half price and sell for double prices compared to normal stores. I'd suggest you keep all the loot from the Asylum until then so you'll make a lot of profit

Lord of Alcohol, H22A1 is the engine code for Honda's 2.2 litre DOHC VTEC engine. Normally it pumps out a healthy 190+ HP. In North America, they only have it equiped on the Preludes (shame they are discontinuing this line), but in Japan, I think the Accord SiR is also equiped with this.
I've heard many Civic drivers use this 2.2 on the drag strip by swapping their 1.6. Old saying...."there is no replacement for displacement".

Thanks for all the info, I've been working on my rep, and using friends as well as the Ring of HI. I guess what I was wondering was if certain mercants would offer more for say, armor, and others would pay more for gems etc, but it looks like my question was answered.

(an excellent forum by the way, one of the best I've seen for any game)
