"Of such great powers or beings there may be conceivably a survival . . . a survival of hugely remote period when . . . consciousness was manifested, perhaps, in shapes and forms long since withdrawn before the tide of advancing humanity . . . forms of which poetry and legend alone have caught a flying memory and called them gods, monsters, mythical beings of all sorts and kinds . . ."

Algernon Blackwood
Quote:
"The most merciful thing in the world, I think, is the inability of the human mind to correlate all its contents. We live on a placid of ignorance in the midst of black seas of infinity, and it was not meant that we should voyage far. The sciences, each straining in its own direction, have hitherto harmed us little; but some day the piecing together of dissociated knowledge will open up such terrifying vistas of reality, and of our frightful position therein, that we shall either go mad from the revelation or flee from the deadly light into the peace and safety of a new dark age."

H.P. Lovecraft
Welcome to earth... err... earthlings? Ever read the relaxing and fabled tales based on the beautifully oriented world of H.P. Lovecraft? Yes? No? You missed a lot if your answer is the later. For those who have the fortune to experience horror, I mean, pleasurable scenes first handedly, now it is your chance to enter the realm where your soul longed to reach. A place where one finds no eternal peace, where shapes and shadows from the stars haunt even the dreamland.

Ok, small campaign! 3 to 5 players are good

Why not just make it freelance RPG storytelling without any special need for creating a character etc?

well, that is because there are checks to be made, and stats is a part of the game. also, for the purpose of consistency, freelance gaming often bring the game into chaotic situation.

how do you freelance this anyway? do you know the background of H.P. Lovecraft's world? the Necronomicon? the Great Old Ones? the Outer Gods?

I DMed this game for a long time, and I am willing to bring something new to each one of your RP experience. Anyone wants to try it out? ^^

So do you have to be familiar with this HP Lovecraft world to play?

no you dont actually, everyone of you is familiar with it. the world of H.P. Lovecraft is basically earth, except with a different meaning. everything (stories, adventurers) happens on earth. as an investigator, you search for clues that would bring you to the greater truth: the cosmic horror of the universe.

when I say investigator, I do not indicate a private eye by trade. an investigator can be of any profession, race, class, nationality as long as they exist during the time when the stage was set.

you make your character. your job is to explore, interact and roleplay. I will unfold the tales for you. it is very much like AD&D, except only darker and more dread.

you can assign your 7 stats to any of the stats above
