I started with the tutorial to learn the game. Is that not the same as starting a new game? I can't seem to get out of the dungeon. I don't know what the name of the place is but there are people in bottles and golems that don't do anything all over the place. I spent 5 hours uncovering the map and all the Portals require some key that I can't find. Not to mention the master that the Golems keep talking about. Should I just start a new game and not use the tutorial?? Thanks in advance.

PS. BG2 is a phenominal game. Almost brings tears to my eyes. Reminds me of the old Commodore 128 days with Pool of Radiance. Ok I'm better. Thanks again.

To get out of the dungeon, the first thing you'll need to do is to activate a golem. The creature is in the room oposite to the one filled with jars. It's activation stone is on the table in another room closeby, where there are three more jars, one of which is inhabited.
Bring the stone to the golem and tell it to do it's job (opening doors, that is).
Now you will be able to enter another room, which is circular and contains a pretty large creature. After you finish it off, go through the door to the east and then go south whenever possible.
You'll walk through a room with a couple of traps in them, and then come past some dryads and find another room full of traps. In this room there is a portal key, which will help you reach the next level of the dungeon. Good Luck!

Thanks! I did activate the one Golem and he took off never could keep up with it. I did find the room filled with traps, however I turned around and headed back. Well cool now I know to keep going through there and to not let my thief die. Thanks.
