2nd ed. AD&D-rules... 3rd ed. AD&D-rules... Which is your favourite?
(A good example on the 2nd ed. rules is the BG-series, while NWN represents the 3rd ed.)

You forgot the 1st Edition Rules which were better than 2nd edition. The 2nd ed. muddied up the water big time. However, I do like 3E.

i say 3rd edition. i like the random dice rolls for stats in 2nd, but the rest of 3rd i like. i think its cool that any race can be any class, and just about any class combination will work. i DONT like how you cant go higher than level 20 though. that kinda reaks.

I left out the first edition on purpose. I wanted to know which is your favourite of the second and third edition.

I prefer 3rd because I like AC system. I hated those that use THACO ( whatever that is ).

Annoyance at Wizards of the Coast aside, 3E/D20 is the best system to date. Morgan, there's a new Epic Level Handbook which deals with going beyond 20+ levels. But personally I think its not very challenging to play a 20th level character IMHO.

The Second Edition is the best by far, BY FAR! but if you DM, them 3rd ed is easier. Oh and what the hell happened to the 3rd ed Armour class rules!? flipped out!

Okay...
1st edition - good, but had some stupid rules.
2nd edition - excellent and got rid of those stupid rules.
3rd edition - those stupid rules got put back in! plus more (AC). On the plus side, it is easier to play and learn than the other two. If you haven't played before, start with this one. Otherwise... what are you thinking people!?
