Stun or Slow work wonders. As does mass bombardment of your entire party. And I mean entire party. Mages use MMM and Improved Haste, Fighters hack, Clerics cast Flame Strike, Druids cast Dolourous Decay/Creeping Doom, and Thieves backstab.

Assassin is spot on with the stun comment. Darts of Stunning are particularly useful in this situation. Wolfweres have natural Magic Resistance, so use Lower Resistance first before casting any spells on them( like Slow, Greater Malison or Hold Monster).
The Assassin's Poison Weapon ability is particularly welcome against such creatures, as the poison damage helps to counteract the regeneration. Combine it with Darts of Wounding to great effect. If you can summon... by all means do so. More helpers means more damage. Fire Elementals, Mountain Bears and Aerial Servants are particularly good, especially if you haste them. |

Also, if you're going to use summons .. dont let them attack at their leisure.
Just surround the Greater Werewolf with them, so that they can all hit him ..select them all and let them attack at once. That way you'll do an almost instantanious huge amount of damage, which is a lot better than summons hitting in intervals whereinbetween the doggie just regenerates. You can tackle a Greater Werewolf with 3 to 4 Fire-elementals that way in one massive attack, its quite easy that way.

i never ever in my life played an assassin and surely wasn't lvl 21 at this point. if you do not manage to finish it try a mighty potion of invisbility and backstab again ... are you really saying THIS is a difficult and mastertactic situation ?!

Tactics smatics. Just follow the concept of focus-fire and be done with it. Even with an average party level of 12, I managed to whack them GWolfweres just fine. The key here is to concentrate on one at a time.
Most of the detailed tactics listed above are for those who want to mop the floor with the GWolfweres' furry butts. |

Of course, you'll only have trouble with the GWWeres if you visit them in Chapters 2 or 3. If they try to stand up to you in the later portions of the game, they won't stand a chance, because your Warriors will have a much better THAC0 and more Attacks per Round....which means those poor woofies will get pounded much faster than they can Regenerate.
