A Samurai Question

Well I beat the game, but in the (SPOILER) rapax castle, i got a kick @$$ weapon, a staff that does blinding flash (forgot the name). So i took that instead of dual weapons. Its really good, but I never got anymore lightning strikes. I usually got them, but now I don't. Is it that staffs can't get lightning strike. And he used to get x3 with a sword, with a staff, he now only can get x2. And getting x3 was really common. But I'm just curious y it didn't work. In the future i will know, so could you guys tell me.

samurai lightning strike = swords only.

Even Vi with over 100 polearm skill gets only x2 strikes with a polearm.

No. of strikes relates to skill with that weapon and, I believe, weapon type.

how is her speed and dexterity? those two attributes make a difference. another thing is that polearms are slow to begin with.
