I already have a bomber in my sorcerer, so I'm looking for a really good wizard specialty.

None. Specialized wizards are clearly outshined by the general wizard and the sorcerer. You already have a specialist: your sorcerer! I look for versatility in my mages, and since you already have a nuker, keep the guy general. Don't worry, a drow mage with 18-20 INT will own just as much as a specialist, perhaps even more so.

Nothing hurts more than getting a cool spell late in the game but being unable to use it.

If you do the specialist exploit (detailed in your other thread) it doesnt matter.

I hear transmuters get a bonus at a certain point, go with them.

I could be wrong, but I believe that bonus is available to any mage with sufficient skill points in certain skills.

I think youre right, Marty4. You are talking about that skill gnomes get a bonus to, right?

_Only transmuters can resolve the issue peacefully (otherwise you have to fight).
AND
_Only transmuters get an extra bonus (in addition to the one mentioned above). This extra is not available to any other class.

I wonder if they threw Transmuters a bone considering they kinda stink otherwise.
