Hey all,

I have uploaded a small module for leveling and equiping a character and I would love for people to try it and rate it.

I have also gotten some complaints that the module is not in the zip after downloading so I would love some more feedback about this problem as well because when I download the file and extract the zip the module is present.

Here is the link:

Thanks!

I read the description and I think your lvl-uper module sounds great. Organized scrolls, custom items, removing experience - awesome stuff. But when I downloaded the zip file all I got was the Readme. This was at 10:20pm central time btw.

This is totally weird, I called my Brother in Atlanta and had him dowload the file about an hour earlier than you did. It worked for him just fine. He ran around my leveler and described it to me. What could the problem be? Hmmmm.....
Maybe I will upload it without compression and see if that works.

Tell me, Is this the name of the zip file?

And thanks for checking it out, PM me your email and I will send you the mod directly if you want.

Oh hey, is that your module?? I had a go with that but didn't realise it was your work!

I downloaded it last night (about 20 hours ago now, when the only 'comment' was that the dl only included the read me file) and it was fine, worked a treat, I got both mod and read me. Love the custom items and looking forward to more

The only comment I would have is that imo the categories of items are broken up too much, it's a bit tedious having to go through all those dialogues to get to look at the store items you want. But I suppose the payoff is that it's easier on lower spec PCs that way, mine sometimes churns a bit when opening the inventory of a large store, so I can understand why it's broken up like that. Hey thanks! I'm busy whipping up some more custom items today in fact.

About the items being over-catagorized that is an issue that tugged at me while making the module. I wanted to make it easy for a character to get a specific type of item by going through a few dialouge choices rather than having to scan through a full store. I also realized that it may be found tedious to trudge through a few different dialouge trees and different stores to get fully stocked up. I am still brainstorming for a better method, to find balance between the two concerns. I maybe I will add- Ultimate stores of each item catagory(Weapons, Armor, ect.) like I did for the scroll merchant. Also maybe one great ultimate store with everything except the custom items. (and I mean everything) for true one-stop shopping.

Thanks for the feedback, I hope you have fun making characters with it.

Creating characters is the best bit of the game

Oooh, one thing that would be good - some sort of monster arena or dungeon so you can test out different characters? Probably a lot of work, but if you're considering adding other features I'd find that quite useful for planning new characters.

I expect to have *at-least* one arena with various scaled enounters 1-40 level included in the next update(with a host of new custom items as well), due to be released within the next 6 days.

Also the aforementioned next update will include more merchant options, and better organized for even easier shopping and the option for less trudging through a bunch of dialouge.

Also, I am considering adding an optional area with an inventory-based system for getting new items to players. The idea is instead of using merchants, players will be able to browse through different placeable inventories for stuff. There is no dialouge or stores at all to trudge through, just running around clicking on different, easily, marked chests and other placeables for stuff.

I'm going to refine what I have now first and add the arenas and forge and then consider this route.
