For the Posessor

The strike injured the humanoid and it backed off of the human. The other two had now decided that they would be ready to leap as soon as the earth told them the prey had fallen. The wounded Grimlock had regained its footing and leaped to attack low at the legs, to bring the man down.

OOC>>>

The other two Grimlocks are waiting for thier companion to bring you down so they can leap upon you. The wounded Grimlock is moderately wounded. It has attempted to leap at your ankles and bring you down.

I trust that your character would be sift enough to block the attempt and continue the attack on the beast that should be moving slower than a healthy Grimlock. Post as you see fit. Sorry about the confusion.

Shadow ~~39/51~~

The shadowy elf's ploy had succeeded, the beast was trapped in the folds of his cloak. The cloak would not hold long against the furious strugglings and thrashings of the shadow hound, and so the Shadow stabbed at it with his sword, then moved quickly to the right and stabbed again, hopefully quick enough to avoid the blinded dog's attack at the source of it's pain, and taking care to try and limit the damage done to the cloak (essentially a called shot to avoid shredding the cloak, I do recieve a few bonuses for special manuevers due to the bladesinger kit, but it shouldn't be all that hard to do... at least in theory.)

Anarrima 41/60 HP

She had her arm up, defending her throat. The beast was eating away at her forearm, trying to get to that throat. Not even feeling the pain for the fear that had overtaken her, she didn't even know what to do. The critical hit had sent her into a state of shock and she just laid there, watching the beast eat her arm. Then...it was over. The hound was gone. Still, Ana laid there and did not dare to move. She had forgotten how. Then the cavern went dark again.

Brendon 41/70 HP

He leaped at the dog, grabbed it by the neck and tumbled off of Anarrima in a mad frenzied wrestle. The shadow hound had not seen the man approach and was trying now to gain the upper-hand in this wrestle, but the man's hands were amazingly strong around it's neck. The hound snapped and squirmed, trying to find a spot to latch onto with it's fangs. It could not. Brendon sqeezed harder and harder, determined to pull the hounds head off of it's body. The hound began to get very determined and actually gained a footing and began to try and run with Brendon on it's back. Brendon leaned forward and put his weight to the effect of causing the beast to tumble over again. It tried to scream out for help from it's pack, but could not do so, so tight were the arms around it's neck. It's lungs began to ache, and then...it knew no more. When Brendon felt that the beast had fell...he began beating it in the head with his fists, screaming profanities and hating this dead thing.

OOC>>>

-Anarrima is unconscious
-Brendon has gone insane in his blood lust for punishing the hound.

Kethotar (80/82)

His attack had been successful, but Kethotar had taken overweight as he had quite recklessly charged the hound, so he could not quickly be back up and alert again. This proved to be a mistake of his, those sort of mistakes you usually make when you're over-excited and often enraged. Not before the ranger had gotten back up on his feet, he found the two other dogs leaping at him, removing what little was left of his barkskin, and damaging him a little bit. The weight of the two beasts were overwhelming, and Kethotar found that he would soon be lying on the ground with the two hounds ready to bite over his throat if he didn't do something.
Luckily, the ranger's right arm was still free and ready to attack. The hound gnawing at his left arm was prioritized
(if that's a word ), as he would not be able to defend himself for long with only one useable arm. He therefore stabbed at the dark creature with his long sword, aiming for the middle of it's back - hoping it would make the creature back out, atleast for a few seconds so he could release his arm.

Elsewhere ……

The Ruins

Silence, it has been said by those prone metaphorical turns of speech, can prove to be deafening. Indeed, the silence of this place is both overwhelming and oppressive. So great is the silence of this place that the ear becomes deaf simply from the refusal to expect that any sound whatsoever might find a hearing in so harsh and vacant a space. Ears in a place such as this grow dead with the deafness of the grave and prove to be as numb to the notes of understated speech as those of the countless corpses lost beneath the weighty silence of the fallen tower. But sound, low and persistent, has taken root here among these moving grasses and the restless stirring of air. Unheard, unheralded and unappreciated, the impossible sound of the advance of an impossibly aggressive life continues unconcerned with whether any shall hear the notes of its movement. Already the first blades of grass have found purchase among the stones of the tower. Already the burning light of the everglowing sun finds a welcome within soil that had heretofore rejected its touch and soon nothing shall be left of the shadowy realm of dark modding power. Soon this tale shall reach its end, not with any great battle fought by heroes against desperate odds, but with the destruction of the remnants of Modding Shadow under the advancing growth of grass and the quiet burning of the sun ……

…… But the hearing of one sound often deadens the ear to the presence of notes in a lower key. And here, more silent than even the stirring of grass within the air and the sinking of roots into soil, is another sound. So low is it that perhaps only the ears of the dead might truly hear its mirth-filled whisper.

Yeeeeeeeeees! It is always such a good thing to pay one’s respects to the dead …… Even to those dead one does not respect …… And it is an even better thing to hover about the plans and struggles of the living. Yes! O Yes!

Even the wind grows still and the warmth of the sun falls strangely cold as a new silence settles over the growing of grass amid broken stones. Far beneath the earth of the Forums the lifeless chorus of the forgotten dead once more whispers DOOM.

For TAOWolf

The space is small and the stone of the cavern floor is soon reduced to a thick muddy mass that prevents all but the most awkward of movements. The numerous mouths of the creature resume their confused and incessant chatter as its formless body slides easily through the mud in search of the woman. A movement, swift and efficient, near the cavern wall draws the attention of its many eyes and the creature turns, its hunger excited. Another movement follows upon the first as something round, something whose bluish glow becomes more intense as it nears the chattering mouths and staring eyes of the creature, moves rapidly through the musty air of the cavern. Reaching the creature, the blue glow attains a blinding intensity that is followed by an explosive scattering of crystal shards, the blinding of many eyes and the screaming of many mouths. Prey such as this is far too strong and every instinct of the creature tells it to flee, but the pain is great and all it can to is lift its hundred gibbering voices in a shrieking harmony as its blood mingles with the muddy floor of the cavern.

TAO: The Gibbering Mouther has been critically wounded and is near death. The initiative is with you.

DMs Note: In order to avoid potential confusion, let me clarify for our new players that TAO's character is presently in a location away from that of the main party and the battle at the Gnome settlement.

Sensing the creature is mortally hurt, she quickly drops to her knees in the dark. She reaches into one of her many pouches and pulls out two rowan carved runes, and throws him at the creature at the same time she whispers a small spell.........

conjuring one more mage globe, this one small and onyx black, she holds this in the palms of her hands and stands....

Chanting two words over and over, she releases the globe in the creatures direction. As the globe hits the creature it activates the runes which begin to vibrate and hum...........

OOC: the runes will continue to increase in velocity and soon ignite the globe which will quickly drain all blood from the creature into the runes...

The Possessor - 74/76

Pushing hard with his left foot against the uneven cavern floor, the gladiator spun away from the grimlock's tackle. Its movements were clumsy and sluggish in comparison to the mighty leap he saw one perform earlier, a dripping gladius almost certainly the cause. He aimed a kick at the monster's head, but his heart was not in it.
There were two more of the creatures looming but a short distance away. The gladiator was unsure as to why they were not fighting, but they had appeared hostile earlier, and he had little doubt they would strike as soon as they saw his back was turned. Judging the fallen grimlock was unlikely to pose much of a threat anytime soon, the Possessor decided to take the initiative.
Sounding a mighty bellow and with muscled legs pumping hard, he charged the nearest of the two.

OOC: No worries, Larry. I was just wondering whether or not I'd have to RP surprise at the sudden shapechange
I'm sure you'll have plenty more oppertunities to set the hounds on me

:For Kethotar

You stab at the creature hoping to hear the result be a satisfying yelp of pain, yet your sword touches nor passes through anything. The dog was no longer there! You look around and it seems that they darkness of movement is swirling in a frenzy, yet moving away.

OOC>>>

The enemy has left and you feel less fatigued than you had moments before. The shadows are moving away and toward the Southern Exit.

For Posessor

The wounded Grimlock laid on the ground, dazed. He did not want to get up. The other two heard the charge and took up a charge of thier own. They leaped at the man and grabbed at his body to find a hold and bring him down.

OOC>>>

The Grimlocks have attacked. One is 5'5", and the other is barely 5' tall. He is young and not fully grown. They have attempted to find a holding onto your garments and attempt to bite, but have not been able to do anything except hold on for the ride as your momentum carried them a few feet. Now that thier body mass has overpowered you, you can now RP your move. They have not had a chance to injure you yet.

Edit...make sure you read the next post about your PC.
You have been bitten in it.
