I've heard that the horn of silence can prevent a mage from casting spells.But when I use it on any mage,it doesn't seem to work.The mage still casts spells as usuall,so what exactly does the horn do?

If the mage is good he will save versus the spell........
It works like the silence spell |

I tried the horn on several enemys like the lich at the city gates ,the Mage at Mae'vars quest and several others,and it doesn't seem to work one bit.

Those saving throws get ya every time! In addition, some mages have things in their contingency-like spells that would prevent silence from ever affecting them.

'Silence' is only any good early in the game, or on lower level spell casters, but SOMETIMES it works later as well, so its worth trying. Spells like 'Breach' are much better, and when the defences are gone you can sometimes get in an effective 'silence' spell.

POWER WORD SILENCE
-it is almost instant -it works every time -it last for a while, enough for you to cast spells to disable his/her magic protections ------------------ Long live H22A1!!!!! |
