Is it just me, or is everyone else sick of the hype that is Harry Potter? Every which way I turn my head, every advertisement I see, every tv commcercial my eyes happen to fall on.... Harry Potter.

I read recently that the woman who wrote the books about him is now the second richest woman in England. Given this, I might start taking up story writing myself. But with less advertisements, obviously

I'm writing a story right now and if it ever reached this level of overhyping and commercialism I'd stop writing the series and take up being a lumberjack, then I would get to sing!

I like the books, and the movie, saw it today for my b-day. It was very good, but yeah, come on. She was on welfare for crying out loud. My god, in that case, I could get myself to write a book about.

Can anyone explain to me why it had to be called Harry Potter and the Sorceror's Stone in the USA, and the Philosopher's Stone everywhere else?

I've read all the books, and I've seen the movie.

And I think your rather harsh to criticise the author....for she isn't the one who has done all this advertising....

She just wrote the books, and for her cause she has been paid well. It will be Warner Brothers (i think they produced the film) that have done the advertising.

You should never get jealous of someone else's fortunes.....

im writing a book right now as well, hoping to make money from it as well as the fact that i enjoy it. i hope it doesnt get this kind of hype though. i dont want people to be sick of Lorath Quicksword and Azure Wolffe before it even hits the shelves...
