My current hard drive is formatted as a FAT32 file system. Does anyone here know a way that i can change it to the NTFS without deleting everything in my hard drive. Since i had Window XP installed and i had activated it, i don't want to get another new copy(is it true?) after i had formatted my drive.
Please help me out. Thanks!

Thanks Mark! You're a lifesaver! I was about to backup my primary hard drive into my second one and do a whole format!
Anyways, anybody have the answer to the second question? If i had formatted my hd with windows XP activated in it. Do i need to buy another copy to get the activation code again?

No you don`t need another copy; but you *might* need to make a phonecall.
Thing to watch out for though is that the Upgrade of XP is different to the full copy. If you have the upgrade, you will need to install a full version of Windows first; now more than likely if you have this problem, your full install will be in the 9x series. They use FAT32. So basically, if you`re going to format to get rid of the FAT32, make sure you can do a full install of either Win NT if you`re upgrading, or XP if you`re not |

Why are you switching to NTFS from FAT32? I always use FAT32. Its faster and is readable from a 98 DOS boot disk. NTFS is invisible once the O/S is FUBAR. XP can use FAT32 just fine.
