Short. Very short. But I like it. It has many very powerful items and spells. And one very cery cool quest.

I,m not sure I'm starting this right? I talked to my bro and gave him part of his soul etc etc. We then teleported to a city under seige. Is that the right start? The walkthrough says different I think.

Yeah it's the right start. I suggest you write things in ToB forum now.

If adamantite golems are made of adamantite, which falls apart in sunlight, will a sunray or false dawn spell wipe them out? Surely it should?

I have a question re. my walkthrough. There are many references in my walkthroough to X and Y locations. Can I actually make use of these?
I'm also wondering if there's some place that will tell me the time of day?
Can I also just "wait" sometimes w/o resting for those daytime and nighttime events?

1) X and Y locations are the exact location on the map grid. In-game there's not much you can do with it, save limiting the area of where you're looking for that (hidden) item to a minimum.

2) You can find out about the time of the day by letting you mouse pointer hover over the pause button on the bottom-left side of the screen. It will tell you Day x, Hour y.

3) Waiting just takes longer. It is, of course, possible to do so, but are you willing to stare at you computer screen for 30 minutes in order to skip approx. 15 hours ingame. [NOTE: I'm not sure about the exact time difference between real time and in-game time. Perhaps somebody else knows this?]

I'm in Watchers Keep and having a really hard time with the Demons in the magic dead room. I only have my Sorc and Anomen. I could really use some help on this one.

About four minutes of real time per hour I think.
