I was thinking of creating a new character and wanted to try out the monk. I was going for speed over strength- i.e. put more points in dexterity vs. strength to get someone who would hit less hard but more often.
What combination of ability scores, feats, skills, and/or items would give me the maximum number of attacks per round. Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

If you pump a lot of points into DEX make sure you get weapon finese, this will then help your unarmed strickes hit using your dex points instead of strenght.
Pump some more points into Wisdom because that helps out your monk abilitis. Strength about 12 points and con about 14 points. If you want to dual class a rogue/SD works well with a monk. Or if you want to be a power house then try mixing some Sorc/RDD levels in after level 20. You can try the Epic builds forum on the Bioware website. They have lots of good Dex based Monk builds.

Unarmed, you get 5 attacks per round, plus your Flurry of Blows. Haste and Circle Kick will bring it up to a total of 8.
Doing the same whilst dual-wielding kama's gets you 9, or even 10 if you take the Improved Two-Weapon Fighting feat. Then there are standard bonus attacks from your attacks of oppertunity as well as cleave, which give you another +2 attacks per round at best if conditions are favourable for it, so that's 10-12 attacks in all. If that's not enough then you can take the Greater Cleave feat for more bonus attacks against weak enemies, or even the whirlwind and improved whirlwind feats if you expect to be very well surrounded by foes. You'll find these three to be less useful though. |
