Default Horrendous day in Afghanistan

Loss of life is always in the forefront when dealing with enemies of the nation. But today's blow hit deep and hard, a CH-47 Chinook went down. Reports from the media can never be fully believed until the military makes confirmation, and sadly through the public disclosure office, almost two dozen of the KIA are SPECOPS, mostly SEALS. Additionally, there were USAF crew coordinators, Afghan Commandos, the flight crew, and a military working dog and handler.

So are you saying that we should doubt that it was Taliban fire, as is being reported?

During the non-fixed-wing transports are when these elite troops always seem to be the most vulnerable, and when we lose the most of them to either foe or accident.

NO, that the media does not know the difference between an orifice in the ground and one in which they defecate from when it comes to military operations.

Any vehicle with a gun tube is a tank idiocy!

Yes, rotary wing has always been the easy target, and one the size of a barn is just plain ignorant. Sadly, these are signs of budget reduction as protocol was breached on this mission, and I hope JPAS makes a 'for public release' statement, but that would be funding/political suicide!
