I equipped my torch with 1 of the function keys which automatically put my shield into the inventory. Now I can't do anything with the shield? I do have the patches 1.52 and the 1.66 says it's not needed on my version. Anybody know what's going on?

Yeah. You have two hands. If one holds a weapon, the other has to hold the torch. No way to have a shield equipped, too. Not a bug.

You have now learned the problem with using torches. Best bet is to look for some item - like a necklace - that sheds light.

No, you don't understand. Now I cannot grab my shield to put it back in my off hand. It's just stuck in my inventory. I can't even sell it or right click to get info on it.

That always happens to me, sometimes all of my equipment does that. Have you tried saving, quitting and then reopening the game?

That is a fairly common thing, or it used to be. The other thing that goes with that is invisible monsters, at least to you, your char can see them, and reacts to them, but you can't, and invisible items in your inventory. Usually associated with video lag, logging out, and back in will usually clear that up.
