Ah, I feared it was so. Glad you found the problem and are on the way to recovery, Dan.

LOL! Never saw anyone get that excited about a root canal before, Z! But I bet you'll be really happy to have all that pain taken care of and the dizziness gone!

Oh god root canal surgery - rather you than me mate *shudder*.
Be prepared to feel unwell for a while afterwards - my ex took to bed for 3 days after he had root canal surgery, with his head under the pillow refusing to move. He looked like he'd been punched in the face, even had a black eye. Apparently it hurt like hell for days after, so make sure you have some good painkillers available. He said he managed to get through the surgery itself by concentrating hard on his female dentist's breasts LOL

Z,
Glad you're on the road to recovery. So that all you know, a bad tooth can cause all sorts of problems. Because my grandfather didn't get a tooth taken care of he had a massive stroke and almost died because the infection from the tooth got into his heart and ate away at the lining of his aortea. When the docs opened him up for his heart surgery he was literally hours away from dying because his heart was bleeding out. His heart's been repaired, but he hasn't fully recovered from the stroke and probably never will. He lost lots of wieght, his speech is slow and slurred and he now needs a walker. To make it all the more frustrating for him, his brain's still as sharp as ever, he just can't do much because of his body. This wasn't just old age, this all came about because of the stroke. So, boys and girls, get to the dentist sooner than later!! Hope your feeling all better soon, Z. In the meantime, cats are great companions when you're feeling ill.

Well unfortunately I have been there and done than Ziroc. Root Canal...OH JOY!!
I hope you don't have the same trouble I did with mine. Extra roots with the molar and the nerves tended to corkscrew round in the root. At least that was what the sadist with the tools told me. I was however able to work during the three days it took to finish the proceedure and immediately thereafter. |

Having survived three Abscesses!! (hey i used to have a sweetooth where that hole is!!)
Let me say Your teeth need to be kept away from cold (ice, Breeze, etc) And hot drinks, soup etc!! (STAY AWAY FROM HOT FOODS THEN COLD DRINKS!!) Keep eating soft foods for the moment!! Oh i also get dizzy!! Pain causes it yes but a temporary remedy is to get your blood moving to your head... I fainted many times with my absesses!! I wish that pain on no one!! Sorry I havn't been in the forum for a bit Z. I could have told you that the symptoms you were having almost surely meant an infected tooth! Good thing you got that taken care of quickly. When the pain in the tooth quit, it was most likely the nerve dying off. You will need a root canal after the antibiotics are through. I feel for you big guy!

Not that this has anything to do with root canals, but the dentist who extracted all four of my wisdom teeth at one shot was named
Doctor Fear....
