Hey I've just made a character with Axe proficiency and I don't remeber finding any decent axes the first time I played the game. Are thier two-Handed axes in Baldur's Gate 1? Are there any nice magic axes in Baldur's Gate 1? If so could you please give me thier location (possible spoilers ahead).

Here is what I could find for you. Bala's axe found in durlags tower. Fourth level garden room. Battle axe +1 purchased in beregost purchased from feldepost in and one more in sorcerous sundries. Battle axe +2 in baldurs gate loot from Gretek in helm and cloak inn. Throwing Axe +2 in the catcombs in candle keep loot from Prat.
