Umm that is another one of those spoof sites right? Nobody really believes that, right?

I can tell you why the ancient Hebrews were told not to eat certain foods. It wasn't so much as the food being unclean. That's the reason they used before there was knowledge of nutritional values. For the most parts the foods they were instructed not to eat were in fact unhealthy for them. Pork is fattening IIRC, and shellfish are essentially the bugs of the ocean they eat what the fish drop (and I don't mean the food that didn't make it past their mouths).
