Hmmm... sounds like this is geek trivia which escapes you,DS.

Okay, here goes... In the Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy, we discover that the earth was a giant computer built to figure out the answer to the ultimate question of life, the universe, and everything.

The answer came back as 42.

A second computer was then built to figure out what the question was.

Brief research shows that Douglas Adams, author of the HHGG, never revealed the question, seeing as how the earth was blown up five minutes before it was supposed to reveal the question. "What is six times nine" is a common interpretation, although the mathematically astute will note that it is 54, not 56, and that 54 base 10 is 42 base 13. 56 base 10 is 44 base 13.

One reference said that Douglas Adams' estate revealed the question after his death, and that the question was... "Pick a number.. any number."

Err... what was the question again?

Oh, so you're just thinking on a whole new level of conciousness that is so much more complex than our restricted little minds that you are often misunderstood and feel like you're actually starting a scientific revolution but instead the church is out to burn you? *takes breath*

P.S.
This is not a flame, nor is it intended to be one. I'm just talking junk here. If anyone feels offended by this I'll gladly remove it.

That one was earth. The one for the answer was some other, smaller one.

I'd now like to point out that I've no idea why I came up with the number 56, and not 54.

... ahwell...

But what if the woodchuck was the maker of the computer and tried to throw everyone off?

You're right, Gnarf. I mis-spoke. Deep Thought was the first computer, and Earth was the second.

And I have no idea where you came up with 56 either

Now where did the woodchucker go? Did he install a woodchuck program on his computer so the computer would chuck wood instead of the woodchucker who should chuck wood? This is getting a bit confusing? And where is Bill Gates in this story? Is he chucking wood as well, or is he making Windows from the woodchucker's chucked wood?

Not likely - a woodchuck would be less likely to throw everyone off than to chuck everyone off. That is, unless something's thrown me off...

Why would a woodchucker chuck, rather than throw, everyone off? "Woodchucker" is kinda misinforming if he always prefers chucking over other actions... he'd just be a chucker then, no?

... unless he could woodchuck everyone off...
