When I was doing the chores for Mae'var, on the second chore with Edwin, I refused to kill the man for him (I don't see why anyone would agree to doing that for obnoxious Edwin), he attacked me and I killed him. Did this screw up the game for me? What should I do at this point?

No worries, you can't complete that quest and you've lost Edwin as an NPC(arguably the most powerful magic using NPC) but it's not critical to the game.

SPOILER:
> > > > > If you want to complete the quest for Renal, you can either: 1) Reload and redo (agree to aid Edwin), there is NO adverse consequences for killing the guy. 2) Use the CreateItem command and create the key that will open the strongbox on the 2nd level of Mae'Var's Guildhall, the item code is EDWINKEY. Get the evidence and bring it back to Renal. ------------------ Long live H22A1!!!!! |

/ / / / / / I think Edwin would drop that key when he dies, you wouldnt have to spawn item. I killed Edwin too with one backstab, but too long ago so I couldnt remember clearly. But I did finisht the quest without reloading or anything |

Edwin is a whiny little... i won't say the word.. but, i think he is over-rated! his pets stink and they last about a fourth the time of Jaheira's pet ( fire elemental) and the cleric air servant pets, which are MUCH better.. Plus they dont have to concentrate for 3 turns whatever. His stats arent that great, he has no resistances, why is he so well- loved anyway?
