Ok this may seem like a real stupid question, but how do you heal yourself in the game, ie potions, magic eating things etc. Its for the x-box if that matters, the reason i ask this question is that i have got the game of a freind and he has lost the manual..

You can sleep ("T" on the keyboard), use health potions (from temples, apothecaries, mage guilds, alchemists, etc. etc.), use spells and scrolls ... lots of ways.

For early in the game healing in a battle is crucial to success, so obviously potions are the best as you jsut click on it and you're healing, but scrolls are a little too clumsy for in a fight, as you have to actually cast the spell while you are being attacked, which can be a bad thing(especially if they hit you in mid cast, cuz then the cast failes and you have to do it again, all while taking damage). Yet once you've used up most or all health potions because of the fight and you're still in a bad health situation, you can rest, which is the black button for xbox, but you can only do this if there arent' any more creatures or enemies nearby, otherwise you will just be waiting, which does nothing. But by-far the best way to heal is expensive and hard to do. You need to enchant a piece of clothing or armor with a grand sould gem with either a golden saint or an ascended sleeper, because they are the only ones that grant a constant effect. Then if you have a restore health spell, put it to restore health 1-or however high you can go, it depends on the item) every second. So every second your health is being restored 8 points. If any of that enchanting part was confusing, don't worry about it, because it takes a while to get 100 some grand to enchant something like that.
So if you're havin trouble, stick to potions.
(blah blah blah)
Wow I really went on ramble rage there didn't I.

cheers i think i have the idea now, i had only gone into the first town, and there where no health potions for sale, what i will do with this character is go just outside town and sleep, as i have cleared the near area of monsters.
But i have started a new character, a much more fun little theif, who has a few spells as default to heal myself.
