any guy who would cut off his own arm so that he could better understand what its like to be disabled is nuts hehe.
As for bertram... head out from the asylum nightclub going straight, on your left youll see a diner, on your right youll see a warehouse type building....keep going straight...youll pass a bum with a big sign shouting ravings....keep going straight, youll see a trash can on fire with a gate behind it, click on the gate to get to the oil tank. |

I have a feeling I should have bought half life 2 instead
when I start the game up, and go to create my character, it starts lagging during the loading process, then the text is messed up on it. and I have updated everything, tried everything the patch said to do, turned off all things not needed. shut down the internet. when it finally does load, it goes into the intro movie, and the voices hang up, sounding like a record that has skipped. when the game it's self loads, and I try to converse with the guy I am supposed to meet up with, it locks up, and will not let me talk to him. perhaps I can return it tomorrow and get HL2 instead. I can not see myself waiting years to be able to play a game.

Heh, Stormy, I'd get some other game than Halflife 2, you are likely to have similar problems with it since it is the same engine and Halflife 2 is even more resource hungry.

As for lagging in VTM:B it may be the memory leak problem. Right now the only workaround is rebooting.,.,.,.,

i found hl2 ran significantly faster fps than bloodlines.
But in both of them i would make sure to have 512 mb In your case I would make SURE to turn of EAX in vampire, and look in control panel for your sound card. possibly even disable your sound card and try it in software mode. Mess with the settings I have a feeling that is your problem. I had lots of sound stutters thru the whole game in the city hub areas. [ 01-03-2005, 06:44 AM: Message edited by: the mighty stamar ] |

I played the game on a amd3000+xp, 1Gib kingston pc3200 and a radeon 9800pro 128MB vidcard and the game would actually stotter when walking in hollywood near the supermarket with all the ppl. Somehow changing vid and audio settings didn't make a whole lot of difference IMO. Then again, I didn't use any patches.

This may be a silly question, but is this game 1st person (like most FPS games) - or 3rd person/1ist person (like KOTOR) where you are just behind your character?

Both. You can switch between 1st person and 3rd person view by pressing z, or whatever other key you have assigned to command to. In combat you're always in 3rd person it appears.

In this game, if you're melee, combat will be in 3rd person but if you're using guns, it's 1st person. Very nice touch.
Though firearms are far weaker than melee weapons. |

OK, I've put an order for it - should hopefully arrive within a couple of days.
