Bug I've had FOREVER

My SoA/ToB bug-woes have been few, thanks to baldurdash and official patches - I even ran through Jaheira's Romance.

But, I've had this one bug forever, and I just don't know what to do.

It only happens during battles. I will be fighting away and suddenly my view screen "jumps" to some random spot on the map - usually a lower corner. So I pause and either scroll back to the battle or double-click on a character to center my screen on the battle again.

Once this starts happening to me in a battle you can bet your but it will happen repeatedly until I've done all the butt-kicking there is to do and ended the battle. Anyone else ever have this problem?

Yeah, that happened to me quite often, until I switched off shaking of screen at critical hits. That reduced jumping of view screen drastically, but still happens sometimes. Maybe someone else knows what is the matter.

that sounds like ''smash the pc through the window'' irretating

...

it never happend to me though... it only happens to me (sometimes) because I have a cordless optical mouse (I HATE LOGITECH), and if the batteries run low the mouse will space and will go every direction I dont WANT IT to go...

but can't help you with this bug

also.... I HATE JAHEIRA with her ''I hate wasting time like this'' or something... sheill dialog with me than and say the same thing over and over again.... she does inatiate dialog like 4 or 5 freaking times... EVERYTIME the same things ... hate that witch (fancy A** Druid).. romance me? hehehe HELL NO! My Char. has what they call ''TASTE''

I had the exact same problem on my old PC machine. I would PAUSE to arrange my party, cast spells, assign enemies, etc. ... then hit the spacebar to UN-PAUSE...and suddenly THE WHOLE FIGHT HAS DISAPPEARED!!!!

I would say it is either a problem with your mouse or the capacity of your machine. Since I bought a newer computer, I've had no such problem.

Just a thought. My old machine was a 1st generation Pentium and Slooooooooow. Screen scrolls were horrible. The scenes "jerked" rather than "streamed". I never did figure out what caused the screen to suddenly "SHOOT" to the nearest corner. Has to be something with the mouse, but I couldn't tell you exactly what.

Maybe the mouse, Cerek, but not the machine. I'm running a Sony Laptop P3 1 GHz that is not the newest generation but is certainly well above-board for SoA/ToB. I'm running a USB Targus laser mouse that I only had to plug in and required no install disk. Dunno.

BTW, where is the option to turn of the "screen shake" on critical hits?

I can't help you with your problem, but I used to have the same problem too when I was playing the game. But I didnt get it constantly, maybe once a week or so when I rolled a critical hit.

Oh, I think that is a misunderstanding I have inadvertantly allowed to continue, 9_1_6. I do only get this problem upon occassion. It doesn't happen every battle.
