Well, i have fallen to the dark side again. Last night was just too much. I got visitors, who were all smoking, and with all the wine and beer running freely i simply couldn't resist anymore. It was so much easier when i was all by myself, perhaps i should lock myself up from the outside world.

Well hey you were only experimenting anyway. I'm not surprised, it is not an easy thing to give them up for good!

I quit for 4 months when I turned 40 and went from 185 lbs. to 220 lbs. Funny thing is I didn't eat any different and 11 1/2 years later I still am the same weight. I'd like to try to quit again but not if it means gaining more weight.

Every time you quit it is different though Machinehead. I ate a bit more for a few months when I quit, but I eventually levelled out and am back to my usual weight of a whopping 100 lbs. So don't get too discouraged by that.

Here's a link to a website that gave me a lot of information and perspective when I quit last year:

http://whyquit.com/whyquit/A_NicodemonsLies.html

Same site here, lists many of the main carcinogens:

http://whyquit.com/whyquit/A_Tobacco_Additives.html

Main site:

http://whyquit.com/

Lots of info that motivated me. Oh, and if you want to drop a few pounds just avoid white bread and soda for awhile.

I know you have kids Machinehead, I bet they'd love for you to quit smoking and be around for them for years to come.

Good luck to you if you try again, Johnny and Machinehead! I know LadyZ had a lot of research and preparation before she quit and I'm really impressed and proud of her success...almost a year..that's fantastic! Go Wendy!!!

My dad was a 'cold turkey' quitter but he had the flu when he quit so we always figured any of the bad symptoms he might have had with quitting were just written off as flu so he had a little easier time leaving the smoking behind.

I just got two kittens! Michelangelo and Tiger. My brother wanted a turtle instead of a cat, so he named the cat after a turtle. Weird.

Anyway, i just got a 2007 Ford Fusion, its pretty cool i guess, i installed a system and put a new hood and spoiler on it. The girlies think im fly! hahahahahaha!

Ok, we're sinking fast... so HELLO! LOL And what is everyone up to, anyway?! Work, school, summer lazing around?

I'm visiting friends with a built in pool this weekend, hope the weather improves, since it's been raining here all week.

We here in Virginia seem to be in a pattern of mid 90s with high humidity for a week, that changes to low humidity in the low 80s for a week. Repeat and repeat again. It's really odd in its consistency. We are in the 80s phase as of 2:00pm today.

Wishing you a fun weekend at your friends' house in zee pool Cloudy! I myself am just glad tomorrow is Friday and it won't be horribly hot so I can enjoy the weekend.
