That pissed me off. They send a copy protection data patch through the signal.. Grr.. (I ordered HBO for Sopranos Premiere last night, but went to sleep). didn't work.. was scrambled--blacked out..

SO..I will order that filter that removes it. I simply want to make use of the DVR, not mass produce crap.. (Since DVR's are digital, they don't fall under the fair use rights that VCR's had). grrr.. morons.


Just a warning if you are gonna get a DVR. Look it up to see if it uses Macrovision CP. Some don't. (Sony is the worst offender of CP)

I got my dvr from time warner, and ive never had a problem recording anything either.

This is a DVD Recorder, not a Harddrive DVR.. Dunno... I will order that little box that filters it.. what a pain.
