have you got a nymph's cloak - use it to charm him

minor spoiler

one can be pickpocketed from Algenon ob the second floor of Feldepost's Inn in Begegost

the other can be made by the shopkeeper in Sorcerous Sundries in Baldur's Gate - if you have tha lock of nymph's hair from the nymph in Ragefast's house

otherwise use spells - charm, dire charm etc.

EDIT: And welcome to IW

I think you're screwed

P.S. why did you attack him in the first place.

EDIT: have you tried the Dire-charm-spell?

lol, i dunno. i just felt like getting back into candlekeep and he kept pissing me off by not letting me in...i had no idea attacking would have such great reprecussions...isn't there anyway i could cheat and change his disposition towards me or anything. or else i'm gonna have to start all over again!! is the dire-charm a strong charm spell. I've been using the ordinary one. i don't know if i have dire-charm. i'll go check.

If the Keeper of the Portal (or whatever his name is) is immune to Charm or has a really high Magic Resistance, that tactic won't work. Try it and see. If it doesn't,what you might do is CLUA in another Keeper, and hope he's not hostile to you. Hand over the book to him, and proceed as normal. Hey, if you do it within the sight range of the first Keeper, they'll still be fighting each other when you emerge in Chapter 7.

WOOHOO! I'm in. thanks a bunch. I had to type in the command. I hated "cheating," but it seemed absolutely necessary to continue playing. Thanx again.
