Is the expansion worth the money?
I got IWD in fridays, and beat it today, monday (though I did played the demo and continued from that savefile a day before). Very short. My question is if HoW will expand the adventure much (like BG2 expansion ToB), or just a little (BG1-TotSC) |

By itself maybe not. But, Black Isle created a free downloadable add-on called "Trials of the Luremaster" (about 73MB worth) for those who thoght it was too short, and you ought'a be able to get HoW for about 10-15 bucks.

Wedin,
Wow! Four days?!?! Lay off the caffiene, bud: You must have been eating No-Doze like they were M&Ms. I have averaged about 12 hours a week for about the last 3-1/2 weeks, and am only half way through Dragon's Eye. I can see 150 hours, easily, with HoW and ToTL. (Almost makes me afraid to purchase BG!) HoW, with the free ToTL download (about 75MB) should not quite double your gameplay, on normal mode. However, one of the many neat things that HoW adds (read some of the other threads for details), in addition to more adventuring territory, is a "Heart of Fury" mode that makes monsters MUCH tougher, and also gives you more XP, so that your characters can reach higher levels. This should give great replay value. It is $10 (Electronics Boutique) to $35 (WOTC) for HoW (if you can find it at all). I'd say it's a great value, if you can get it at the lower end of the price scale. |
