That's pretty much my take on it too, except I think Best Picture will go to The Aviator, just because of the immense scope of the movie (compared to the others).

I haven't seen any of the movies, so my vote was based on what I have heard and who received Golden Globes and Baftas and SAG awards and so on.

I think The Aviator will win best picture, and Martin Scorcese will win best director. Jamie Foxx will win best actor but not best supporting actor, I picked Clive Owen for that but actually that category I'm not sure about, could be anyone. I'm sure Kate Winslet will NOT win best actress, that will either be Hilary Swank or Imelda Staunton, most likely Hilary. There is way too much buzz about Million Dollar Baby and she is like 2-1 odds. And I think Cate Blanchett will win best supporting actress given her Bafta and SAG awards and the fact that people think she is 'due' given her previous nominations.

What a terrible selection of movies (with the sole exception of Ray). Hollywood better do better next year!

Based on what, Goulum? I have heard and read many accolades for the big four (Million Dollar Baby, Aviator, Sideways, and Ray). Have you seen them all?

Well I was right for the actor awards except supporting male actor, but not for the movie and director. Although I think they should have arranged for a revote for the best actress given Hilary's disastrous dress!

I thought Ray was hugely over-rated. Sure, it's well made and entertaining, but little more than a made-for-TV biopic IMHO. But Jamie Foxx was excellent in it, so I'm happy with that one.

Thought MDB was much better than Aviator (way too long!) Aviator one Best Editing - can't believe it! A good editor could surely have got it down to 2 and a half hours!

I think that Rocky IV should ahve won best picture and best actor (Burt Young). The scene with Paulie flailing around in the snow should have been extended to twenty minutes.

Yes. I was comparing to the last couple of years. I guess we had been spoiled then.
