I heard they both stunk up the place so I had to try them out for myself.
Played with Cernd through the entire game as soon as I made it to the grove.

By the end of the game he racked up an incredible 19 kills topped off by his most mightiest of mighty slayings...an ogre. Yes he cast a few insecty pesty spells but all in all was totally worthless.

Haer D. stomps him into the dust merely based on his ability to carry and use wands! I gave him some decent elf armor two good weapons the Crom and the Blade of Roses to dual wield and he was a decent fighter as well.

He's already past 100 kills and maybe half way finished. Great for identifying too. Yes he's a mediocre NPC but compared to Cernd he is a GOD!.

The real problem I had with Cernd is that he cannot wear armor, limited (VERY) in weapons that he can use, and I am not a fan of werewolf.

Yep Haer D is much better. His offensive and defensive spin makes him very effective as well.

I've never taken Haer'Dalis before - that's because I was too soft and always took Cernd out of pity when I saw him caged.

But then I'd never knew he loved something else more than nature would I............

Dead right (sigh !) Haer'Dalis is MUCH better all round than Cernd (but Cernd is better looking, lol!) Take Haer'Dalis. I like his name, as well (she added, inconsequentially).
