Is that where the chest is, that opens when you solve all the riddles? I think there is like a gem or something that you can use to access the portal in the other room...

Yes, for solving this riddle you'll have a present (it'll appear in the chest in the middle of the room - where all those things have originally been). The riddle is not difficult though - you should give the things to proper statues. Unfortunately I do not remember the riddles and can't tell what order of placing things is right. But if you have no idea what to do - I'll try to remember if you tell me text of riddles.

well there was another room that had a bunch of faces that wanted me to stick my hand it thier mouths. then they would teleport me to a confined room with a statue that would ask me ariddle

Both riddles have rewards. The faces riddle has masks that go in almost a complete circle...some are hard to see.
