Hello all!

I just finished my first run through the game. I have been laid up with a bad knee injury and need to kill about six months instead of working.

I used one character with the settings on normal difficulty and normal respawn, and by the end of the game, he was invincible. Having played most of the Might & Magic series (whose interface I prefer, but that is another discussion), I've come to a few conclusions...

1. I hate using the mouse. For anything. If I have to, I have to, but I much prefer using the keyboard to both target baddies and to travel through the land. Luckily I could reprogram the keyboard for most of the movement problems, but targeting an hacking/slashing/casting was all mouse work. I think I have carpal tunnel syndrome now.

2. My character, a mix of Warrior/Barbarian/Paladin/Ninja/Zenmaster had all stats at 24 and most resistances at 100% by the end of the game. He also was doing sweet damage with the Mavin and a 6 times blessed Wakisashi +2. He had an AC of 26, +47 to hit, +29 to parry, and +43 speed. In the final pyramid, the only things he took damage from was doors closing inward when he tried to walk out (luckily, I found a Lavawalk scroll!)

3. I liked the multiple endings. Many rpg games don't have them, and of course I had to try each one out.

4. By far, the hardest parts of the game were the Amazonis near Ishad N'ha and the silly wisps out near the lost sea. While I was talking to Erzebette in the hut, 3 Amazonis came in and waxxed both me and her, it was pretty funny! The wisps make characters insane, and if you have only one character, insanity is a slight problem, so they took quite a few tries before I could finally deal with them. Other than that, the game was extremely addictive, 6 days and about 72 hours worth!

Feel free to post replies or email questions for tips and hints. Many of the things I was looking for on this board were here, but quite a few weren't. Also, I saw a post about the Monk's Ward, which I had a b**ch of a time finding, because someone said it was in the chest near the carts. Needless to say, it isn't!

P.S. Going back to the Serpent Temple to find the last tome was an utter waste of time
