Avarine Decanter(possible spoiler)

Ive just bought the avarine decanter off nym but when i used it the genie thing didn't have any good items. Is there a certain time when you're meant to use it?

The Genie's inventory doesn't change as far as I can tell. You are actually better off freeing him the FIRST time that option comes up. He rewards you with a number of items including a pair of +5 bracers.

Micah is absolutely right. Note that you can't even look at the Genie's merchandise. You have to set him free the very first time you speak to him. And those bracers are well worth having!

In the HoF mode game, those bracers are even BETTER. Both pairs of bracers will actually stack with armor, giving you a REAL AC boost. The HOF pair also gives you damage reduction to weapons +2 or less. [img]smile.gif[/img]

The easy way to deal with the genie is to do a quick save before talking to him that first time.

This way you can check out what he sells just for yucks (which is not much of any real value).

Then just reload and do the smart thing and (as Micah mentions) release the genie.
