I just wanted to remember the sacrifices made by many of our parents and grand-parents (some still alive, but most of them dead) 59 years ago on the shores of Normandy. The world would have been a much different place today if it wasn't for their sacrifice.

I concur. Wonder if that other place might not be a better world.....probably not. Im surprised that there doesnt seem to be any mention of this in the news |

I certainly wouldn't be here since my oma and opa were one of those couragous few who harboured a little jewish girl (who I've always known as aunt greta) in occupied holland. If the nazi's had ever remained then they would have certainly figured it out and my dad (who was a baby) and the rest of his family would have been killed.
