A morningstar is from one piece and a flail has the chain which links the two pieces.

Scythes are very cool BTW. I don't know the damage in NWN but in in p&p they look pretty good. With some bonus on your weapon and perhaps a keen weapon + greater critical you could get some more criticals [img]smile.gif[/img]

DnD tends to screw these definitions up pretty badly (this was fixed some in 3e), but here it goes:

A mace is a weapon that has an omni-directional metal head, attached to a short wood or metal handle.

A mourningstar is a subclass of mace, that generally consists of a mace with lots of spikes on it.

A flail is an omni-directional weapon that
has a handle and a striking part that is attached by a flexible material, typically chain.

If you download the Community Expansion Pack, you can use a trident, which look pretty cool, though not as good as a two-handed sword.
