Writ?

Hello all...
I guess I just don't know what to do next...I am done with the castle, returned to the lady who gave me the letter to drop in the drop box, but she didn't say anything...and I cannot get in the mines without a writ. Tried the caves where the Boogre's live, but decided against it (was turned into boogres, so I quit without saving)..so have just wandered around..tried chatting with Erathsmadore (sp?) and saying the magic word, but nothing...any ideas??

I'd recommend finding the writ and entering the Stout Mines. The writ is in a gourd-shaped cul-de-sac north of the trail leading to the Mines. It's lying next to the burnt body of Grundel and a chest. For a spoiler map (location at "F") click this link.

Also remember that when you use the writ to get into the stout mines...FIRST & FOREMOST SAVE YOUR GAME PRIOR TO TRYING! (writs have been known to disappear sometimes!) But, when the guy returns it to your party, it will be unidentified and may not go back to the person who gave it to him. Check everyone's inventory if you ever think it lost before reloading a saved game where you have it.
