Sorcery determines the power level of a cast spell. For example, an offensive Sun spell would do more damage to the target(s) when the casting character has a higher sorcery skill (from, say, a normal medium rare up to well done).

Basically, each level of Sorcery raises the power of the spell by 10%. Therefore, a sorcery skill of 10 doubles the effect of the spell (100%). If the spell normally does 6-12 damage, it will then do 12-24. For spells with a duration (like Illuminate or Bless), they last that much longer as well.
The highest possible sorcery level is 16, which would be 2.6 times the power of the base spell. How? Sorcery Level 12, +Chi Master Trait (+2 Sorcery) and Enlightenment Trait (+2 all skills). You have to be a Zen Master to get it, though. -Sazerac [This message has been edited by Sazerac (edited 09-07-2001).] |
