While in Berserking-mode, you will be a better fighter, so you do more damage. The disadvantage is that you cant control your character while in Berserking-mode.

You can control him until he attacks an enemy, then he loses control, but after finishing off with the bad guys, if there's no one left to go for, he'll attack the party. And then he loses 15 health points when the berserker mode is over.

You temporarily gain fifteen hit points, and I think a few attack bonuses (though not sure). You can't control your character during this phase and after a minute you'll lose the fifteen hit points you got and your chracter will be winded for a few rounds.

Minsc is the only one who really loses control when going berserk. Korgan, along with any player-created Berserker or Barbarian will be fully controllable throughout and after any battle.
For the full bonuses/penalties, check the kit description of the character. The berserk-state of Berserkers and Barbarians are slightly different, and Minsc's is yet another one. In short, Berserkers get +2 THAC0, +2 damage, +2 AC, +15 HP and immunity to certain spells; Barbarians get +2 STR, +2 CON, immunity to slightly different spells but a penalty to AC and save vs spells; Minsc gets +2 STR and +2 DEX (or +2 DEX and +2 CON, not sure) and immunity to certain mind-controlling spells, don't know which ones. No way--Berserker Rage rocks over Barbarians. Barbs actually get an AC penalty, the +2 STR is useless when you're already using the Crom, and the +2 CON basically does nothing. And the Berserker's total immunity to Imprisonment allows him to vanquish very powerful Demi-Liches without breaking a sweat. Fatigue? So what? Almost every fight is going to be over by that time, and if not, you can simply go right into another Berserk!

barbarian rage is much better because the +4 str does help a lot and so does the con and you also get many immunitys
