Basically, I have a file I need to run as a CGI script. So, I looked through Apache's config, found that cgi-bin in the Apache folder is configured to run every file in it as a CGI. I put the file I need to run as a CGI into this folder, and try to go there in Firefox (by using WIZARD/cgi-bin/filename (WIZARD is the name of this computer on the network, and the name that Apache is configured to use). 10 minutes after I try to go there, Firefox is still "waiting for wizard". Meaning, basically, it isn't working - and this isn't a good thing. How would I fix the problem? Incase it matters, the file is a binary, not an ASCII, and I'm running Apache on Windows XP Pro.

IS your full path correct? IOW, is the file found in //wizard/cgi-bin/filename? If not, that may be the problem. Also, are you putting an http:// in front of it? Seems to me that might be required...
Don't know if I can be of much more help, but them's my thoughts.

From the Apache config file:
ScriptAlias /cgi-bin/ "C:/Program Files/Apache Group/Apache2/cgi-bin/" This should map the folder in quotes to wizard/cgi-bin . The HTTP is automatically appended by Firefox when I leave it out, but the same thing happens if I put it in. |

What's the exact URL you're putting into Firefox? I'm not sure, but I suspect it's looking for c:\cgi-bin\filename instead of the full path.
Try putting the full explicit path to the file in the browser and see what happens.

Ok, got it working. The program was trying to read a file that wasn't there. That problem now fixed, I've almost got this program working. Which is a good thing because it's due tommorow...
