He settles into the chair and removes his gloves, extending his damp fingers against the warm air of the room. He sits quietly for a few minutes rubbing the chill from his hands and listening to the sounds and voices of this new place. The arrival of a bowl of stew and tankard of ale on the table before him are a surprise and he touches the serving woman lightly on the arm as she turns to leave.

“Yes, m’Lord?”
“But I have not asked for anything ....” His voice is low, with a firm directness.
“I was told to bring this to you, sir.”
“I see. Tell me then, what do I owe for this meal?”
“Why nothing, sir .....”
“I must present a rather sorry picture, indeed, to command such ready charity,” he says, allowing a smile to briefly flash across the lines of his face. “Still, I would know whose hand brings such an unexpected comfort to me.”
“I cannot say, m’Lord,” she says nervously.
“It is your name I would know, woman. You are the bearer of the gift.”
“M-m-maria, sir.”
“And have you children, Maria?” His voice softens slightly as he recognizes the woman’s own exhaustion at this late hour.
“Yes, sir – two.”
“Then take this,” he says pressing a small gem into the surprised woman’s hand, “and spend it on them. Now go,” he says, the trace of a smile returning briefly to his face, “and be sure my more remote benefactor receives my thanks.”

The sorcerer had got a fairly sound nights sleep, and decided to go back down to the main part if the bar and do what he did all last night, drink.
However, this day, he had a sense of something wrong, but couldn't quite identify it, nevertheless he wasn't really worried, merely expectant.

She is awakened by her amulet, which is softly glowing a blood red color, and she instantly sits up, wide awake and alert.....She stares into the bloodstone, calling up the forest outside, and searches......................

She spies something suddenly, and stares intently at the amulet, seeing a small party of goblins outside..........~cocks her head, listening to the noise downstairs, trying to ascertain who's up~.
Shaking her head, she stands, straps on her weapons, and cloak, and heads for the door of her room, removing the ward, and steps thru, heading for the main room to enlist help to fight the goblins.....

After laying the man on his bed, Zang-Gief suddenly felt a strong tingling sensation coming from his torc, warning of a spell being cast on him. A sleep spell!

Luckily the resistance to magic offered him by the torc enabled him to shrug off the spell's effects. It was cast with friendly rather than hostile intent, though; he could tell through the nature of the tingling.

Whatever it was, he certainly needed some sleep. So he sat down on the floor near the foot of the bed, leaning his head on it. Yet just before he closed his eyes he caught sight of something stirring in the trees and bushes in the distance, outside the window. He could tell that these were not just wild animals. His hunter instincts triggered a strong alert...

The stranger also turned on the bed, muttering a few words in his sleep...

He slept downstairs. The close and restrictive quarters of the rooms would not have allowed him rest. Sitting on the floor in front of the fire he opened the small locket he wore and whispered a prayer over the child’s face it enclosed. Sleep overtook him and as his head slumped forward his cloak stretched itself protectively over his body.

Having read the note over several times, Sultair decides that there must be trouble coming, and that he should be ready for it (Sultair has an excellant sense of logic!! ) he looks out the window, and using his inate ability to sense forms of danger, he finds that there is a pack of Goblins lying in wait, along with other monsters he cannot decern the signature that each leaves... he thinks to himself "I hope that they're only more goblins. Im in no mood right now for a full on attack!!"... he walks back over to his bed, and re-equips his leaf armour, cloak of nature, and his Quaterstaff. He decides that if he is going against unknown monsters he had better be at his fastest, and decides to not wear any boots. He picks up his quaterstaff, and steps out of his room...

I hate it when the computer doesnt recognise u typing the / to close a tag....

It is the hour of birdsong and instinctively he stirs. The folds of his cloak withdraw their protective envelope. Stiff and reluctant, his body resists waking – even with the ring that restores his health it will take some days for his body to recover from the strain of this last week. Opening his eyes, he is surprised for a moment by the sight of a ceiling over his head. The sound of movement on the upper floor briefly catches his attention as he recollects himself to listen a moment to the birds sing their song of first light. There is no song, however, only shrill calls of a very different tenor. “Damn!” He pulls on his gloves noting that the burns on his palms have not yet begun to heal, grabs his bow and stands hoping that his body at least possesses its normal range of movement. “Here we go again,” he says with a resigned laugh, “when is it ever easy?”
