You should give it a bit more of a chance my friend Have you tried out the multiplayer aspect or how about getting a bunch of your mates and DMing a game?
If you'd prefer the single player side of things and don't like the included campaign then there are already a few good mods out there on the www. Just out of curiousity, what was it that you found so boring? Lack of combat? too much combat? too much storyline? didn't like the storyline?

The tutorial are for people who have never played D&D and arent familiar with the controls, so theyre neccecary, you dont have to do them if you dont want.
For the life of me, i can't find what is so boring about this game! I havnt gotten bored once! Only frustrated and the cpu for being slow

I feel your pain Norway, I like you was disenchanted with NWN for the first few hours but like everyone else I came to be totally hooked. The game really comes to life about 3/4's of the way through chapter 1 and by chapter 2 you don't want to get off. There's so many things about this game, you gota give it the chance it deservers. I guarantee you will change your opinion.

every time i start a new game i always go thru the tutorial. it gives you easy xp and you are lvl 3 by the time you leave so it makes it easier when you get out into the real world.that and i can usually leave the tutorial with about 2000 gold to work with.
and warcraft 3 is pretty good, not as good as its successor starcraft, but i got to meet the development team of blizzard the other day where i work. they where having a promotional setup where i work, they where trying to sell warcraft.they said starcraft will be out in 2 years after the money made on warcraft 2 has been made.once starcraft2 comes out ill be there. |

I found the narrators voice MAJORLY disappointing, and the selection of male PC voices very samish. All agro tenor voices. No variety. I also see the portraits as unrelatable ugly cartoons.
Then, I find the views frustrating after experiencing Morrowinds and BG2s. I'm always wanting to see just that little bit ahead.... AAARRRGG! Drive cam is better than top down, but the 'camera' is always swinging wildy then! All the feats and skills I find confusing, and remind me of the gen X phenomena "Options paralysis." (So many options you choose none) The multiclassing options leave room for "unbelievable" characters (a Monk/archer?) And I miss, the old Clerics blunt weapons, and the old thief subclasses. But what is with the racist "Gypsie" character. It basically reinforces the old stereotype that Gypsies are theives. What next? Jews that are stingy, or Germans that are rigid? How racist? I won't be surprised if a Romanie (modern day Gypsie) sues them over it. Seriously. Finally the plots not really getting me in. All a bit... juvenile.. to use a strongish word. HOWEVER. on the plus side, the graphics are amazing, and the soundscapes are pretty cool. The detail in movement is excellent. I love the way the combat works, and the graphics of movement with it. Arrows fly well, hit and miss looks great. I'm sure I'll get into it more, and even get used to the one henchman bit which blew my mind. At least I can focus on one character. Only prob is, one of my favs the Bard, is not supposed to be great if you play solo.... Oh well. It's only a game. I'm still going to play the heck out of it. |

The female voices are a bit disappointing as well. Again all very angry and butch. Even the innocent idealist voice is harsh. But I do like the female portraits; there are lots of pretty ones. The male ones are less good, though.
And I agree, Yorick, about the skills and feats smorgasboard! I am so confused, I used a package for my ranger because I had no idea what skills to pick, but then levelling up was so difficult again . A little too complicated I think. Also the camera modes are tricky, I don't like top down because moving the camera manually is too much effort, but chase cam which I use sometimes swings a bit too much. However despite that I like it a lot! Haven't got very far but so far so good . I like that your abilities are kind of sucky to start, but you can improve them later on. Also I like the fact that, unlike BGII when you had to play through the deathly dull dungeon everytime at the beginning, you can bypass the tutorial after your first time through. A great addition

yeah the game is pretty boring, the graphic doesn't look good ( dungeon siege was nicer ), combat is extremely slow ( I like d2 fast and furious combat speed ). not much thing to do in the game except be an office boy to do errand for others.
now I'm playing the game merely to finish it. |
