some observations on the Final Battle ***SPOILER***

I have been messing around against Melissan lately and have discovered that she is immune to almost all forms of magic. That includes anything I've casted on her after lowering her resistance by 120%. I still haven't got around to trying all the spells of course, but the only thing that has done damage is Prismatic Spray with a pretty decent 20 hp worth of damage both times I have cast it. I have tried: Dragon's Breath, Comet, Chain Lighting, the list goes on and on. Was wondering if any of you encountered any other attack oriented spells that can do damage to her. Also realized(and i wish i would have before the 1st time i beat the game) that she is completely immune to arrows of piercing. Thats is distressing seeing as how theyre thaco is lower than +3 or +4 arrows, i sold all +3 and +4 arrows that I ever encountered. Well I'd like to hear from anyone who has discovered any other of her immunities, or spells and such that do significant damage.

I'm not sure if you have Ascension installed .. i dont think so, but that's not really a problem. I do have ascension installed, which has an improved mellisan.I'm not sure what the changes are, but I'll give you her immunities, which should be pretty much the same without Ascension.

General Info

Base Armor Class = -10
THAC0 = -7
500 HP
4 attacks per round
lvl 30/30 cleric/mage

Now she has a few rings in her inventory that make her immune to ..stuff ..
I dont have IEEP, so I cant tell what it is, but its probably your random immunities to Imprisonment and such.

As for her Rsistances ( the fun part ) :

Acid : 50
Cold : 50
Electricity: 50
Fire : 50
Crushing : 75
Piercing : 75
Slashing : 75
Missile : 75
Magic : 70
Magic fire : 50
Mafic cold : 50

Its basically just a bad idea to attack her with any elemental-based spells.
I guess Abi-dalzim's Horrid Wilting and Skull trap are your spells to use.

I used the Greater Whirlwind and Whirlwind attacks of my fighters, while the other three (I had Keldorn and Minsc in my party), were fighting against the minions she summoned. Sometimes they even fought with me. Using the Whirlwind attacks is very, very good, because it takes her down fairly quickly, and it will not make you go down in the FIRST fight... i did beat her with some deva summoned by my side. i think they are good against the mist slayers as well.

Pfft, Mellisian was actually pretty simple. All you needed where some good tactics, a mage, and a couple badass fighters.

Ok,

Mage to summon monsters to help with the little undead doods she summons. She teleports to the other side of that huge thing in the middle so dont even wory about hitting her for the first few second ( at least area spells) as soon as she D.Ds back a little and casts blade barrier then do dispel magic. Have your fighters go and attack herr while you still can but watch oub/c she is a pain in the ass but shadow keeper always helps and if u have a Fighter/mage u try casting blade barrier ( i think its F/M ) ill finish this post l8r c ya,
