Generally I tend to fight strong monsters hand to hand. That way they also tend to fight with mêlée attacks. You get rid of his pesky firebreath. Then look closely at him when he makes his attacks. All monsters are fully animated. For instance Xydusa´s head goes back then forward, like a snake, when she tries to bite you. What you do then is back away rapidly. The textbox will the say, "Erathsmedor misses (Out of Range)". Then you can run back in and whack away until his next attack. This strategy works with Xydusa, mantraps and lillies (if there´s a single one of them!!!). The only timed I´ve killed Erathsmedor was with a zenmaster and a Valkyrie. That was quite easy actually but those two were a tad inhuman lol

I know how to get the Mavin Sword without giving the shroud to Erathsmedor or killing him.
I even know how to get the Mavin Sword before entering the crypt or leaving Valeia! I even know how to give every member in my party a Mavin Sword!! I also know how to get the shroud without ever visiting D'Soto! I wonder how fast I could play the game with all this knowledge. Wyv (hacking at the speed of byte) |

But Wyvern, if you hack everybody a Mavin sword, and run right through to Cet's tomb and kill him, where exactly is the fun? Kinda defeats the whole purpose of playing a game in the first place.

What 50-foot giant? Forgive me, but my memory pales.
There's only one thing in the Gael Serran that can't be bested by sword and staff, and that's Lord Cet. For him, you must have *THE* sword and *THE* staff. Now, in MM9 there's a frost giant you shouldn't kill directly, and a beastie you can't slay with sword or staff, but that's neither here nor there. Okay, it's really there, but it's not here. Sheesh. I'm confusing myself!
